OBJECTIVES OF THE TRUST

 

1)      To advance and promote women empowerment.

2)      To perform activities promote gender equality.

3)      To endeavor poverty elimination.

4)      To conduct educational, research and out reach activities oriented towards economic growth especially in rural areas through harnessing modern developments in science and Technology for environmentally sustainable and socially equitable development.

5)      To focus on research and outreach projects in biodiversity, biotechnology, sustainable agriculture and training and capacity building.

6)      To achieve agricultural and rural development, and conservation of natural resources by sustainable use, gender equality and empowerment of women.

7)      To promote understanding of science, technology, agricultural practices and environment in public through media to increase consciousness and knowledge about scientific developments and the environment and also environmental problems facing the country.

8)      To work for the upliftment of downtrodden community and to create social consciousness in them.

9)      To work for the creation of employment opportunities for the economically and socially downtrodden people.

10)  To participate in programs of agriculture, horticulture, animal husbandry, rural crafts, small saving, literacy, social education, child care, health and hygiene.

11)  To render expertise and technical advises to the needy   and to support their activities related to the aforesaid objectives.

12)  To undertake scientific and statistical surveys and consultancy services for Government Agencies, NGOs etc., on specific requirements such as survey of crop pests, damage assessments and control measures.

13)  To start and run educational research institutes/centers on various fields of biotechnology and environmental sciences such as phytoalkaloids, biofertilizers, biomanures, vermiculture, vermicomposing, biopesticides,  pharmaceuticals, biofuels etc.,

14)  To initiate action and bring out awareness among the farmers to use biofertilizers and biopesticides to reduce environmental degradation and sustainable development.

15)  To prepare, produce, and disseminate basic educational and reference materials on science, technology, agriculture and environment.

16)  To  develop  and  test  education  and  awareness programmes, and to initiate, propagate, and help develop science education programmes for other agencies in India and abroad.

17)  To provide services including developing material,  programmes, and  conducting training programmes for other agencies,  institutions, government,  semi-government, and non-government organisations in  the field  of  science, technology, agriculture and environmental  education.  Also  to  run  specific   training programmes  in carrying out the programmes and materials to be developed by the Trust

18)  To  take  up    demonstration  and research  projects for the aforesaid purposes.

19)  To undertake programmes to conserve natural resources and to afforest wastelands and restore sacred groves.

20)  To undertake analytical and scientific research work related to the biotechnological, agricultural and environmental sciences and to establish laboratories and workshops for that purpose.

21)  To  provide  a forum and the staff for services  to  support  the initiative  of individuals, groups, institutions and  academic  bodies interested   in  running  programmes  in  the  field  of   biotechnology, agriculture and environmental education.

22)  To establish, develop and run nature educational parks, natural history  museums,  and other such facilities in order to  develop and test  educational material that may be applicable to  such  facilities elsewhere in India and abroad.

23)  To  develop interpretive  centres at sanctuaries,  national  parks,  biosphere  reserves,  zoological and botanical gardens and other areas of natural interest or environmental concern.

24)  To  develop,  maintain and run a reference  library  and  Data Centre  with  books, periodicals, films, video tapes and  other  audio visual  materials as well as teaching aids and training material  from India and abroad.

25)  To  print, publish, and exhibit books,  pamphlets, periodicals, educative  and informative material that may be considered desirable for promotion of the objectives of the Trust.

26)  To  publish  a  journal    aimed   at professionals,  and  others in the field and to bring out  such  other periodic  and non-periodic publications that may further the objectives  of the Trust.

27)  To organise lectures, seminars, workshops, study groups,  debates, symposia  and  other  programmes  in  the  field  of  science, technology, agriculture environment  and environmental education.

28)  To establish, run, organise and maintain classes, schools and other institutions and organisations to impart training, knowledge, teaching as well as to undertake research for the aforesaid causes..

29)  To develop syndicated features and to contribute  periodically  to newspapers,   magazines, and professional  journals  in   order to disseminate  and  create  awareness  of  issues  .

30)  To undertake projects entrusted by the Government,  semi-government bodies  or  other bodies sharing its aims and objectives;  and  plan  and carry out all other projects inconsistent with the above and to do all  such  things as are necessary, incidental and  conducive  to  the achievement of any of the fore-going objectives of the Trust.

31)  To give loans, scholarships, stipends,  prizes  and  any kind of monetary assistance in furtherance of any of  the  aforesaid objectives of the Trust.

32)  To avail the services of consultants (Indian or Foreign, with or without remuneration) in the area of work of the Trust

33)  To seek recognition and/or affiliation from governments or universities and/or municipal authorities or other bodies for teaching courses leading to the awarding of diplomas, degrees or certificates.

34)  To co-operate with educational or other institutions in any part of the  world  having objects wholly or partly similar to  those  of  the Trust  by  exchange of scientists, environmentalists and other  professionals and generally in such manner as may be conducive to their common objects.

35)  To  produce  and to encourage  the  manufacture  of  educational  materials, and to market and sell such material in order to disseminate them.

36)  To undertake projects in collaboration with and financial support from National and International agencies.

37)  To undertake research on mineral wealth and collaborative projects on the same with any other agencies/institutes/organizations both Government/ Non-Government and National/International.

38)  To undertake property development and maintenance activities at both National and International level wherever the Trust deems it fit.

39)  To develop, implement and participate disaster management strategies for natural calamities such as floods, droughts, cyclone, Tsunami and earthquakes.

40)  To engage in activities such as food production, preservation and nutrition for welfare of the society.

41)  To organise special programmes  in IT such as software and hardware development, pre-press activities, BPO etc

42)  To organise/participate in maritime navigational and aeronautical Educational/Training/Research programmes.

43)  To undertake research collaborative projects on Geology, Pedology, and mineral wealth with National/ International agencies of both Government/ Non Government.
